
The K E N T M E S S E N G E R is one of the oldest and largest provincial weekly papers in the UK. With a rich tradition and heritage to preserve, the paper set out on the challenging journey of improving the publication through better design. Tony Fahy worked with Tyrone Pardue of Pardue Assoc and Kelly Frankenny of Garcia Media on this publication. A new grid was devised to cater for the story diversity, as well as the wide variety of pictures and advertisements. The new layouts allowed for awkward combinations of advertisement sizes, text columns and depths. This was particularly true of the new treatments for the classifieds and small-ads sections of paper.
